The Reflecta X-Scan 35mm film scanner offers an extremely fast scan speed of just 1 second at 1800 dpi, thanks to using a CMOS image sensor. It's also USB 2.0 and requires no additional power supply.
The X-Scan comes with two film adaptors, one for negative/positive strips (up to 6 pictures) and one for framed slides (3 slides per adaptor). All you do is load the adaptor with your film, insert it into the X-Scan and press the scan button (or initiate the scan function from the supplied software), then advance the film adaptor to the next position and repeat!
The supplied Arcsoft Photoimpression 6 enables you to make simple adjustments to the images and then save them onto the hard disk of your PC.
Is the Reflecta X-Scan right for you?
The Reflecta X-Scan is aimed at the home user who wishes to bring new life their existing film collection by enabling them to be viewed and manipulated on your computer. The main features are the ease of use and speed of scanning. If you are looking for high quality scans (to print at A4 for example), then the X-Scan is probably not for you because the resolution is too low and the dynamic range more limited. However, if you want to be able to view your old slides and film on your PC and share with family and friends, then the X-Scan could be ideal!
