With a long pedigree in the photographic and printing industries, together with a name for quality products, the X-Rite Eye-One Display 2 will enable Professional Photographers, Graphic Designers and Pre-Press Technicians to calibrate and profile their monitors. Now, you can achieve consistent, predictable colour on all types of monitors (CRT or LCD/TFT) and keep them that way.

The Eye-One device is a high-quality colorimeter with enhanced repeatability, faster measurements and higher sensitivity in dark areas for better control in shadow detail and a more neutral grey scale.

Getting accurate colour on screen is straightforward even for the novice user - after installing the supplied Eye-One Match software on your Mac or PC, plug the Eye-One sensor into a spare USB port and run the software. Specify your monitor type (CRT, LCD or Laptop) and following the instructions, place the sensor on your monitor. Depending on whether you have chosen the 'Easy' or 'Advanced' options, the software will determine the optimum brightness and/or contrast settings (along with a few other things) and then go on to measure the colour performance of your screen. At the end of the process, which takes between 5 and 10 minutes, it will have created an ICC profile (containing the digital characteristics of your monitor) which will be saved and made 'active'. Once completed, this automatically becomes your default monitor profile and you'll now be looking at images on screen that are as close to the original as your screen will allow.

Once you've profiled your monitor, we recommend repeating the process every 2 - 4 weeks (depending on your screen type and age) to maintain consistency and accuracy over time. Because the software is 'site licensed', you can install it on all your computers and laptops and simply plug the USB sensor into each computer as needed.

For monitors supporting the DDC/CI standards, you'll achieve one button push monitor profiling - no extra cable required! The Advanced Mode allows experienced users to achieve individual and best possible monitor calibration with extra features such as selection of different monitor white points, custom luminance settings and detailed profile summary.
